Chinese Workers Copy Viral Resignation Letter to Quit Their Jobs
Jun 12, 2016 By eChinacities.com

Last April, a female teacher in Zhengzhou wrote in her resignation letter that she wanted to leave her job because, “the world is so big, and I want to see it.” The letter was posted on the Internet where it sparked a heated debate. Last Tuesday, a woman working in Zhuzhou named Su copied the phrase in her own resignation letter. Copying the phrasing in the letter has recently become popular in Zhuzhou for those who want to leave their jobs.

Su left her job in Zhuzhou and wrote, “The world is so big, and I want to see it. Yunlong is so small, it’s hard to find a boyfriend.” Su worked for a tourism agency for the Yunlong area before she resigned.

Su left her job in the company’s marketing department earlier this year. The resignation notice has not yet been approved by the company’s leadership.

“The two sentences cover the reasons for my resignation,” said Su. She said that did not intend for the letter to be posted online and did not expect for it to cause so much attention. She declined to comment further for personal reasons.
