Dali, Yunnan Struck by a Series of Small Earthquakes

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck Yunlong, Dali, Yunnan on May 18 at 1:05. The China Earthquake Network reported that the earthquake struck an area located at 26.10˚N, 99.58˚E. The earthquake had a focal depth of 10 km.

Another 5.0 magnitude earthquake almost hit the same spot at 0:48 on May 18 (26.10˚N, 99.53˚E) with a focal depth of 15 km. At 0:51, a 3.4 magnitude earthquake hit nearby (26.08˚N, 99.60˚E) with a focal depth of 15 km.

At 1:06 a 3.1 magnitude earthquakes struck the same area (26.08˚N, 99.58˚E) with a focal depth of 5 km.

The earthquakes caused cracks to appear in building walls, and may have damaged thousands of houses.
