I think my two bob's worth was directed to someone who wrote something a bit odd and who has since deleted the comment. Can't think of any reason I would've been pointing at your good self.

Excuses, excuses.

It sounds as if all the reasons the author mentioned are simply excuses b/c she was unwilling to face the "real world" back in the States. There are very few reasons to justify staying in China, let alone going back to it. The only thing I agree with is not having to tip in China. Many of the waiters back in the US feel as if they're entitled to a gratuity w/o actually making the effort to earn it.

You can only be jaded when you make 10 times as much as the locals without lifting a finger, life is so boring.

I guess you're not a teacher if you make ten times as much as the locals

Would've agreed with everything, but then you mentioned that you didn't want to tip the person who brought you your food. Do you know how much those people make back in the States? They make half the minimum wage because the State assumes they'll make the rest in tips. Sometimes they do, a lot of times they don't. Great way to end the article *sarcasm*.

It's against the law to pay below minimum wage. Maybe they are underemployed, but they can always pick up a second part-time job. I have ƒamily members currently working as servers, they make a killing almost every shiƒt. We're talking $200+ ƒor 4-6 hours, at a chain restaurant!!! You must be a server at Denny's or some other crappy diner.
