Students’ handwritten papers from Hengshui Middle School have caught the attention of many in the U.K. and U.S. The school is known for its strict standards on handwriting and as a result, the students’ English writing is absolutely beautiful. The writings look like they were made on a computer rather than by hand.
The students’ teacher is extremely strict with their handwriting- a letter that is crooked or missing a stroke will be marked incorrect.
Comments on a U.K. Daily Mail article on the students’ handwriting were translated by the Chinese media. The Daily Mail article was titled “Can you believe this essay is handwritten? Chinese school forces pupils to write English letters like a computer- and each character must be identical EVERY TIME.”
One U.K. Netizen commented, “Once, handwriting was taught in British schools. Now the kids can barely speak English.” “Maybe we should send our children to China to learn,” suggested another. A Netizen added, “You may laugh but this is why they are gonna take over the world. Academically they are years ahead of British kids.”

This actually why so many Chinese can't read clearly written words. Because they are taught to be very narrow minded . They do not understand that letters and numbers do not obey a strict standard. 6 is a great example , many Chinese will misread it as 4 because they don't understand the different styles.

Each letter must be identical every time? Like a computer? No individuality. We are not supposed to write exactly the same , our writing is an expression of our personality

As we all know... China: Too many people, not enough real enterprising spirit to put them to good use. But look at the handwriting, it's pretty. Waaa.

I had a student named Shadow, her handwriting was better than those that are posted. Clear, accurate, and also beautiful. Best handwriting on earth...I've ever seen.

The nonsensical content of the essay doesn't matter because the writing is beautiful. Good metaphor for China there, kid.

Yet the handwriting in Chinese is unreadable. You will find it works in reverse too. Non Chinesevpeople who have learnt Chinese tend to have clear Chinese writing.

Lovely handwriting. It'd be interesting to see how long it takes to write a page. It's a pity that the content is absolute hogwash. One reads "I was curious because it was the first time I had meet from a circus." Hmmm. Perhaps the teacher should worry more about the writing actually making sense rather than how beautiful it is. Send your kids to China to learn? You must be kidding. Why do you think that China ships out their kids as fast as they can to Western education providers? It's because that China's education system is a disaster. Parents openly bribe teachers to teach their kids better. Students are given hours of repetitive and pointless homework every night. This article is hilarious. This is typical of modern day sensationalist journalism that misses all of the facts but presents a fascinating story.

But that's not really handwriting, as we had learnt in school, this is just alphabet handwriting.

Hahaha what a propaganda piece. "You may laugh but this is why they are gonna take over the world." Yeah man, I laughed. Rote learning is not the path to world domination. I'd be more impressed if the pupils had written their own essays, these are obviously copied from another source. All that aside the handwriting is nice, much better than mine.
