World's Most and Least Liveable Cities: Where Does China Fall?

The Economic Intelligence Unit released a ranking of world cities by livability this past Tuesday.
140 cities were rated in a number of categories including stability, health care, culture and environment, education, infrastructure and more.

Beijing was ranked the most liveable city in China at number 69, five spots higher than it's ranking last year.

Melbourne, Australia took the top spot as the world's most livable city. Most of the top five most livable cities were either in Australia or Canada. War-torn Syrian capital Damascus, Libyan capital Tripoli, and Bangladeshi capital Dhaka which is know for its weak infrastructure were ranked among the least livable cities in the world.

Eight Mainland Chinese cities were included on the list. In addition to Beijing, Tianjin came in at number 70, Suzhou was ranked 71, and Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Qingdao were further down on the list.

I was in Melbourne last week and am not surprised it's been considered so highly by the powers that be. But $7.30 for a mid strength beer at the footy might've cost it a point or so. At least you can still get a full strength drop in the members' bar.
