The People's Bank of China will release a new version of the 100 Yuan bill this November. The updated version will be the fifth version of the bill.
The main pattern and colors of the bill will remain the same, but a number of adjustments will be made, making it more difficult to produce counterfeits. Notably, the “100” mark on the front of the bill will be centered and changed to gold. The new bills will also have two identification numbers, wider security strips, and special magnetic technology which will make it harder to trick machines with fake bills.
The new set of 100 Yuan bills will be officially released on November 12.

Time for an upgrade. Do they make larger banknotes (500, 1000) to suit people's needs? No, locals love playing with their bulky cash wads. A facelift for the biggest banknote pnly: More gold equals more class!
