220,000 Knives Found by Beijing Subway Security in 7 Years

226,800 knives have been stopped at Beijing subway security since the implementation of security checkpoints in 2008. 749,000 total contraband items have been found by subway security workers.

Dangerous items caught by security scanners include knives, impact drills, crossbows, guns, and more. Apart from the 226,800 knives found, 209,000 highly flammable items, and 313,600 other items have been identified.

258,600 of the items found were confiscated by security, and 5,428 passengers were detained for bringing illegal items onto the subway.
