A building collapse in Jingyi, Guizhou resulted in four deaths and three injuries. Rescue efforts for the victims of the building collapse were completed yesterday, according to Xinhua.
Reporters obtained information from the district housing department’s response team saying that rescue teams worked for 15 hours, and saved three people trapped in the rubble and recovered the four that perished.
Currently the three survivors are receiving treatment, and rehabilitation efforts are currently underway.
According to a CCTV report, the residential building that collapsed was a brick and concrete structure. Three such buildings have collapsed in Guizhou over the span of one month.
It is understood that buildings with steel structural frames are the strongest at resisting shock forces, whereas the weakest are buildings with brick and concrete structures.
