Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi will travel to Beijing this week to meet with Chinese leaders. She will meet with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang.
Burma hopes to strengthen relations with China, and China hopes to increase its influence in the Burma. Tensions between China and Burma have increased in recent years and there has been violence near the border between the two countries.
China's influence in Burma has recently declined following the Burma's recent democratic reforms. Burma has moved towards Western countries and Japan, and its citizens have recently protested China-backed projects in the nation.

Yeah, that's what I thought so I did a brief search, turns out there is more to Burma vs Myanmmar, even political and cultural connotations. If "Burmese people are writing for publication, they use 'Myanmar', but speaking they use 'Burma'..." fyi * news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7013943.stm
