Villagers Kneeling Protest Prompts Investigation

Villagers Kneeling Protest Prompts Investigation

A protest by around 200 villagers in Shandong Province has prompted an official investigation after pictures of them kneeling outside a government building appeared online.

The villagers staged the protest claiming that their village committee was corrupt and money that they should have been paid for relocation had been stolen by local officials.

According to thepaper.cn, the villagers were offered compensation after the Yanzhou Coal Mining Co Ltd.began mining in the local area. However, they claim that they haven’t received a penny and the funds were used to build a 5 story office building for the village’s six officials.

Furthermore, the houses they were offered by the company were of poor quality and in November, they were asked to each pay 10,000 RMB for utilities.

The local administrative government says that they have already begun investigating the claims, but villagers seem to think that more action was necessary.

High profile, attention grabbing stunts appear to be more effective than directly petitioning the government; last week, 12 people who had been victims of an investment scam successfully met with their local officials after threatening to jump off a government building.

The incident prompted three arrests and gained national attention for their case.

That's why they are putting on the anti-corruption show.

Another selling point for China's Tourism Board, reincarnation. China is the living proof reincarnation exists ---- look at all the corrupted CCP officials along with their business partners. 5000 years accumulation of corrupted officials and businessmen reincarnated. You find me another place on this planet with that many corrupted people! NOW you know the prime reason behind china's 1.4 billion population! Oh, the poor villagers, of course they have to get reincarnated too, how can the show start without them? So, historians, come to China and experience 5000 years of culture not only fully preserved but LIVING, the SAME essence as in the past 5000 years! Guarantee jaws dropping trip! (Ahem...I bet the Dalai Lama would give this post an approving nod if he sees it)

5000+ is the commonly accepted carbon dating figure. CCP's failed effort was AFTER the initial population explosion; a result of Mao's encouragement and reliance on labor productivity. That being said all these are iceberg-tip explanations.
