Chongqing has captured a glimpse of the terrifying future and taken it back for us; a 30 metre cellphone pedestrian lane designed especially for those who do not have the time to look up from their phone to check where they are going.
Of course the first issues with this concept are obvious; if someone is so distracted by their cellphone that they pose a threat on a normal sidewalk, how will they stay inside the confines of the special sidewalk? For that matter, how will they realise they have to get on the phone section, or when it ends?
We reckon that it wouldn’t hurt if there was to be a special subway carriage for these obsessive cellphone users too.

The most ironic thing about China is that the country basically developed the concept of "face"... yet has lost so much of it that it is debt to the rest of the world for all eternity.

More lines on the ground for Chinese people to ignore. Who on Earth could look at this and think "Yep, that'll work"? If China was organised by intelligent, competent people, it would be formidable. Fortunately it isn't.
