The disclaimer at the front was pretty well-deserved. Chinese men value looks, and Chinese women value wealth and power. Bashing Chinese men for not being handsome is like bashing Chinese women for not being rich. You could flip it around and ask if Chinese women are good enough for Chinese men, since everywhere you look, you see women who don't work as much as men, or in the same high-paying jobs as men. Cultural norms would have women spend their time working on their looks (gym, exercise, shopping for beauty products, etc.), and have men spend their time working to earn money. It's hardly a surprise when you take moment to examine Chinese society.

I wouldn't say women don't work as much as men. I don't have the numbers to back this up but in most offices i've seen here women outnumber men by at least a little, when the reverse should be true demographically even if your theory is correct that women don't want to work.

Remember for every girl you see out shopping during business hours, theres at least one guy sitting at home playing computer games. Both might consider themselves too good for the jobs available to them.
