60 People Have Been Arrested in a Month in Xinjiang Anti Terror Drive
Jun 17, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Police have busted 9 terrorist organizations so far since an intensified anti terrorism campaign  that started last month. Over 60 people have been apprehended, many of them with the aid of local residents who tipped off the police.

According to ecns, the police have also seized more than 40 kilograms of explosives, discovered two sites for ‘illegally recording videos’ , 160 ‘blast devices’ and flags that ‘instigate religious extremism’.

This month was the start of a yearlong anti terrorism campaign concentrated in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region as the country has grappled with repeated violent attacks. The region has long been known for civil unrest and instability, and has often been the subject of strict controls; most notably being deprived of internet access for an entire year after the 2009 Urumqi uprising which saw nearly 200 people killed and over 1700 injured.

Even more people have been arrested on lesser charges such as spreading propaganda and harboring illegal weapons.

No it wasnt muhammed Yusuf Ali They will swear to you by Allah, when ye return to them, that ye may leave them alone. So leave them alone: For they are an abomination, and Hell is their dwelling-place,-a fitting recompense for the (evil) that they did. Dr. Ghali They will soon swear to you by Allah when you turn over to them, that you may veer away from them. So veer away from them, for they are an abomination, and their abode is Hell, a recompense for what they have been earning.

According to the "Encyclopedia of genocide and crimes against humanity, Volume 3", per the United Nations Genocide Convention Article II, Qianlong( sixth emperor of the Manchu-led Qing Dynasty)'s actions against the Zunghars constitute genocide, as he massacred the vast majority of the Zunghar population in 1689 and enslaved or banished the remainder, and had "Zunghar culture" extirpated and destroyed.Qianlong's campaign constituted the "eighteenth-century genocide par excellence.Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Turkestan_independence_movement
