Police Arrest Yet Another Idiot for Beijing Airport Weapon Hoax

Police Arrest Yet Another Idiot for Beijing Airport Weapon Hoax
Mar 28, 2014 By eChinacities.com

It’s been less than two weeks since a man was arrested at Beijing Capital Airport for claiming he had a bomb stuck up his ass, but that doesn’t seem to have deterred the latest troublemaker.

This time a man was arrested for claiming he was intending to carry weapons and “dangerous items” in his check-in luggage on a flight from Beijing to Quanzhou Jinjiang Airport. The allegation was made on a QQ chat group for China’s civil aviation and immediately aroused police interest.

After a bit of investigation work, police quickly identified the culprit, a man surnamed He, and brought him in for questioning. After a couple of minutes of interrogation, police learned that he sold children’s clothing for a living and had checked in 1000 kilos of children’s clothes during his flight to Quanzhou. The illicit message in the QQ group was sent from his phone while he was waiting to board the plane at Terminal 2. A vigilant netizen called the police immediately upon seeing the message.

As for why anyone would be so stupid as to falsely claim they were carrying weapons prior to boarding a flight, remains a mystery. Boredom perhaps? No matter the reasons, he has had to pay the price: not only did his bogus claims disrupt social order, he delayed the flight by 132 minutes and severely disrupted airport traffic as a result. He is now sitting in the slammer with plenty of time on his hands to consider the stupidity of his action.
