Aug 29, 2013 By eChinacities.com

According to the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection, this winter authorities are strengthening efforts to combat air pollution in heavily affected cities such as Beijing, Tianjin and areas around Hebei. The ministry claims that if serious air pollution persists for more than three days due to negligence in carrying out their duties, leaders in charge will be prosecuted according to the law.

What’s more, enterprises caught secretly discarding polluted water or repeatedly violating the law, will be shut down and those responsible will be dealt with according to the law.
