Pudong Deputy Head Probed For Owning Large Property

A Shanghai official recently came under fire after he was reported to own a large property that he shouldn’t have been able to afford with his official salary. A post from the official CCTV Weibo account on February 16 divulged that Lu Ming, the Deputy Secretary of Shanghai’s New Pudong Area, owned a large villa on 2,600 sq. m of land in neighbouring Chongming County. An official probe showed that the main building on the property had 247 sq. m of floor space, while a second housing unit had 63 sq. m of floor space. As the probe into his property continues, the outer wall surrounding the complex has been torn down.

Dear Mr. Shanghai Official, Buy property in California, not Shanghai! Ask your co-workers for more information. Doh!
