This is not a new concept. Western influence has always been seen as a cancer on traditional Chinese life. More over the past 200 years we've seen growing anger on topics that challenge different points of view. We just have to move forward and hope that the good actions out way the bad. But the internet has a tendency of expanding situations out of normal means.

I think it is really good that Yang Rui spoke his mind for once.

We might deplore this quasi-racist sentiment, however it isn't like the people who don't say it aren't thinking it. Yang Rui is really only guilty for speaking his mind.

Any strong nation has strict limits on Immigration. It is the only way to preserve national wealth and raise living standards over time.

What?

There is nothing quasi about these statements: the ARE racist. Were a TV commentator to make these comments about Chinese back home that person would be forced to resign or be expelled from his organisation.

Chaching,

Your post is fantastically accurate and nail-on-head.

I have been here three years. I have seen some good people. I have also seen a lot of bad here. I'm talking foreigners here, by the way.

Inland, China is racist, no matter what you say, and I am a white guy saying this. Yet, I have had more bad experiences with Chinese people than I have ever had with others. Of course, they are not all bad, but when Chinese people tell me most Chinese people are bad, including my current girlfriend, and my ex, there is seriously something wrong.

I am appalled and embarrassed by what that British guy did. I saw the videos, and if he hasn't already been given the Death Penalty, he should.

Now the latest visa regulations make it nearly impossible to stay and work in China. Nearly Impossible. This country is not attractive for foreigners to work, even if they want to, because the hurdles that need to be got through are getting more numerous, more compact and are a lot higher.

If I didn't have a son here, I would give up and go elsewhere. There are far more attractive places to go and teach. Thailand might have ladyboys, and Vietnam may have deadly spiders, but at least you can breathe there.

Things are so bad here that they split my wife and I up, and we got divorced. She can't get in to the UK, and I can't stay in Chengdu anymore, because it's a dirty polluted building site, and I had too many bad experiences there with narrow-minded and two-faced liars there.

Good case for keeping the Chinese out of every other country.

I agree with Gentleman- I've been saying the same thing for years! China SHOULD get rid of the trash! They not only destroy all the trust that we've worked so hard to build but they also give EVERY foreigner a bad name. I've been here for 9 years and there was never a time when I could say that 'many' expats coming here were of real benefit to China, as most were just looking to sleep around and drink. Unfortunately I know a couple of good foreigners who are working illegally and many complete idiots who are working legally.

But I think that the Chinese public is finally coming to understand that the color of someone's skin or the color of their eyes does not mean that they are good people. Now if only they would use that understanding when hiring!
