Aug 08, 2016 By eChinacities.com

China’s National Work Group to “Eradicate Pornography and Illegal Publications,” recently released the results from its fourth special action. In the anti-porn campaign, the government investigated 712 different pornography-related cases. 3,612 websites were shut down including 811 porn sites. 869,000 pieces of information were removed, of which 529,000 were pornographic.

The campaign to “eradicate pornography,” includes the removal and clean-up of pornographic audio and video online, as well as websites that advertise sexual services. “Illegal publications” refer to any publications that violate China’s Constitution. Examples include publication that undermine social stability, endanger national security, and promote piracy.

With the massive gender imbalance, it makes little sense for them to "eradicate pornography". 20million + sexually frustrated men cannot be very good for social harmony.

What the Chinese government doesn't know is that the world doesn't only speak Chinese and English. There are other languages too and many of these are spoken by hundreds of millions. All censorship in China is directed at the content on those two languages.
