Chinese citizens are living longer than ever, and infants and new mothers have a lower morality rate than in previous years.

The National Health and Family Planning Commission released the 2015 Health and Family Planning Statistics Bulletin this past Thursday. The bulletin reports that in 2015, the average lifespan for Chinese citizens was 76.34 years old, 1.51 years older than in 2010. In 2015 the average infant mortality rate was 8.1%, down from 8.9% in 2014, and the maternal mortality rate was 20.1/100,000, from 21.7/100.000 in 2014.
