Two terrible men were recently caught poising and stealing pet dogs in Changzhou. They had apparently found a market for dead, poisoned dogs and had stolen hundreds of family pets before they were arrested.

A family in Changzhou reported that their two family dogs had been poisoned and stolen by two strange men in broad daylight. Police recovered surveillance footage from the scene and saw that the two suspects had stolen the dog and fled across the city towards Lu Village in Danyang, a smaller city outside of Changzhou. One of the men wore a helmet.

On May 12, police raided the men’s home in Lu Village, Danyang. Police arrested one suspect, while the other escaped. Police seized a crossbow, ten doses of anesthetic, and seven dead dogs from the suspect’s home. The suspect in custody confessed that in less than two months, he and his partner had poisoned and stolen over 100 dogs.

The suspect, a man named Xu from Suzhou, originally came to Changzhou to find work. He was unable to find a job, but found a way to sell dead poisoned dogs on the black market. Police are closing in on the second suspect and are investigating the whereabouts of the rest of the dead dogs.
