Quick-thinking Hangzhou Policeman Saves Drivers from Massive Sinkhole
Apr 29, 2016 By eChinacities.com

A massive sinkhole more than six feet deep suddenly appeared in the middle of a road in Hangzhou last Thursday. Luckily, an eagle-eyed traffic policeman spotted a large crack visible before the sinkhole formed and prevented a serious disaster.

On an ordinary workday, the traffic policeman spotted a small crack had recently formed in the road. He began to divert traffic around the crack by placing cones and directing cars around the area. Just four minutes after the roadblock was set up, the ground suddenly collapsed. The collapse occurred almost exactly where the officer had blockaded off.

In CCTV footage, the traffic policeman moves casually but works quickly. His keen observational skills clearly stopped a tragedy from occurring.

The footage from the incident has been reposted on a number of international media outlets. On YouTube, the video has more than 3 million views. Some media outlets praised China’s police and their reaction to emergency incidents, while others agreed that the officer acted heroically.

News about a "massive" sinkhole appearing and nothing happening? It suddenly collapsed? The video is on fast forward... News about a traffic cop doing his job? Why is this news? eChinacities is getting desperate for attention huh. Pathetic.
