Shenyang Normal University has constructed a new campus building that closely resembles a famous U.S. landmark. Netizens have pointed out that the building looks very similar to the U.S. Capitol building. The university even planted cherry blossom trees like ones Washington D.C. are famous for outside the new building.

That building was there in 2008 already, I applied for a job there that year. The cherry blossom trees may be new though.

Is anyone ever surprised that, yet again, another aspect of Chinese life was copied? I mean why? How about a different and original building.
