Tesla really knows its market in China: company’s Model S will now come equipped with a “Bioweapon Defense Mode,” button, perfect for those bad pollution days. The car will come tricked out with an air filtration system and anti-fog and haze functions.

The “Bioweapon Defense Mode,” is activated by pushing a biochemical hazard warning button in the car. The button starts the car’s hospital-grade air filtration system which will clean up the air in the car within a few seconds. Reports claim that the car’s system is 10 times more effective than the HEPA filter used in mainstream filtration productions. It can even protect passengers against biological weapons- hence the name of the feature.

The Model S’s air filtration system is 10 times more efficient than a normal car’s. Tesla claims that the button will increase the system’s ability to filter bacteria by 300-fold.

The feature is especially helpful, “for those who live in the North of China and have problems with haze,” said Tesla China general manager Zhu Xiaotong. Tesla’s Model X SUV was the first to use this technology.
