Man Hit Wife For Disconnecting The Wifi

Man Hit Wife For Disconnecting The Wifi
Mar 09, 2016 By eChinacities.com

In Chongqing, on the evening of March 6, police responded to a domestic violence call brought on by a neglected wife disabling their apartment’s wifi.

According to Xiao Ge, the woman involved in this incident, her husband Xiao Zhang recently had only been paying attention to his work and his phone. On the night of the 6th, Xiao Ge came home to see her husband lost in his phone and ignoring her presence as usual, so Xiao Ge chose to disconnect the wifi in their apartment. However, this only enraged her husband, and he struck her across the face.

According to the young couple, this was not the first time something like this had happened.

Xiao Ge told police that a few days prior, when her husband came home at four in the morning, instead of addressing his wife, he only paid attention to his phone, so Xiao Ge snatched the phone and locked it in a cupboard, and her husband retaliated by striking her.

At the police station, a policeman informed them that he had notified both their parents so that they could sit down and talk things through.

Funny how women here spend all day everyday staring at their phones, totally ignoring what's happening around them, but when a guy does the same they go phycho on him. Poor guy.

I'd like China to take Canadian law concerning family violence.

The man was doing his work! damn! Whatever happened to the woman simply trying to talk to him or something. They both need to check themselves into anger management clinics

He was doing his work at 4am? Sounds like he'd been playing out with other women and chatted with them on wechat when he got home. Do you treat women this way in your country?

Both are at fault, anger management. In my country? You mean England? Yeah, apparently 30% of men have abused their spouse and something like 80% of women have abused their spouse.

Those guesstimates of yours sound like something you made up. Here's some (old) numbers for you: http://www.theguardian.com/society/2010/sep/05/men-victims-domestic-violence As for the people in the article. Sounds like they actually need to talk to each other (especially the husband, rather than playing on his phone. Interesting though......I've re-read your post and my reply and it looks like you might have edited what you wrote as my reply doesn't quite fit with what your comment now says.

I'm guessing the figures of domestic-violance against males are much larger than those reported. Men usually don't report when beaten by a woman. Quote from the same article: The official figures underestimate the true number of male victims, Mays said. "Culturally it's difficult for men to bring these incidents to the attention of the authorities. Men are reluctant to say that they've been abused by women, because it's seen as unmanly and weak."

Exactly what Guest626460 said. Men rarely ever call the police when there's domestic violence. They just take it. And whilst domestic violence against women is going down, it's going up in the case of men. I edited it because I made a spelling mistake, don't think too much.

Yup, doesn't surprise me. The police here think domestic abuse is because the couple just can't get along and in most cases "the woman deserves it". I think it is in ancient Confucius law that a man should beat his wife and children every few days to prevent them from making outrageous requests and being too self-entitled. Primitive law for a primitive people still following it. Seems like the government likes to make laws that only appear like they are progressing their human rights position... but don't really enforce it... typical.

Notified their parents? Can Chinese police be any more useless? The only punishment was to inform the parents. Given that the guy's parents raised him to be an overgrown child, I doubt they would be able to help out.
