Guangzhou Men Posed as Hot Women Online to Get Business for Prostitution Ring
Jan 21, 2016 By eChinacities.com

A gang running a prostitution ring in Guangzhou was arrested, and its leaders were sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 300,000 Yuan.

The group used WeChat’s “People Nearby,” tool in order to find customers in Guangzhou hotels. The men created accounts with beautiful female avatars in order to lure clients in, and then organize a real prostitute to meet the men in the hotel.

19 defendants were tried in the case, and 11 of them were in their 20s. Three of the young men on trial, Wang, Liu, and Fu were from Hubei and Hunan and had traveled to Guangzhou to find work after meeting as students. In addition to running the prostitution ring, they had normal jobs and worked as taxi drivers and cooks.

The gang downloaded photos of pretty girls from the Internet and pretending to be them in order to attract and seduce clients. Once they had a customer, they would contact a woman named Ling to organize the actual hiring of a prostitute to the hotel.

By Chinese standards, that is practically honest business. Service was provided, though the packaging made it look more appealing. And everything was fine and dandy until some CCP bigwig hired a prostitude this way, and decided all efforts should be spent on unmasking this "heinous scam". blah. Meanwhile, 10% of baby milk in China remains tainted with melamin. But at least these guys are going to jail. Let's sing praise of how safe China is with such selectively efficient police.
