More than 90% of fake products that enter the United States are from China, according to a report recently released by the US Department of Homeland Security. In 2014, US Customs seized more than $1.2 billion worth of fake products.

More than 60% of goods seized were from China, and more than 20% were sent from Hong Kong, but were mainly originally from China. Goods seized included designer clothing and shoes, luxury auto parts, and medical supplies.

The report says that China is mainly to blame for the producing and selling fake goods in the global market. China has repeatedly topped the list of similar reports.

An expert from the US government said however, that China is not the only country producing fake goods. Fakes are produced in India, Vietnam and other emerging economies. Therefore, China is not solely to blame for the fakes flooding Western markets.
