Netflix plans to go global in 2016 and add a number of foreign markets including China, India, and Indonesia. In all, the streaming service hopes to add 100 new countries over the next year.

Netflix will also invest about $5 billion to produce original TV content, more than twice the amount budgeted by HBO. If everything goes according to plan, Netflix will earn than $500 million in net profits in 2017.

Securities analyst Anthony DiClemente expects that Netflix will have 150 million subscribers worldwide by 2020. By then, the company’s revenues will reach nearly $20 billion.

However, to reach these numbers, Netflix must break into the Asia market. The Chinese market is the key to Netflix’s success in the Asian market. There are many competitors already dominating the Chinese market including Alibaba’s Youku, and Baidu and Tencent’s video steaming services.

This is useless for foreigners, it'll be censored beyond belief and the government really don't want foreign shows becoming more popular so it'll be packed full of the crap soap operas that my wife watches.
