More Chinese millionaires have emigrated from China than millionaires from any other country, according to Hong Kong's Asia Times Online.

A report from wealth consulting firm “New World Wealth,” states that around 91,000 Chinese millionaires left China for another country from 2000 to 2014. China has the fifth largest number of millionaires in the world- 600,850 according to the report. The U.S. has the largest number of millionaires in the world at 4,100,000.

China's millionaires mainly emigrate because of the China's harsh taxes on the mega-wealthy. Yahoo Finance reported that Chinese parents are also worried about the country's severe air pollution, lack of clean water, and food safety scandals. Therefore, many wealthy parents are relocating their families out of China so that their children can become citizens of other countries.

Popular countries and regions for emigrating Chinese millionaires include the U.S., Hong Kong, Singapore, and the U.K. Hong Kong is the third most popular home for China's super-rich: 29,000 Chinese millionaires live in Hong Kong.

India is second in number of emigrating millionaires. Out of 226, 800 millionaires, 61,000 have emigrated from India.
