50 people from Mainland China and Taiwan were deported from Indonesia on Wednesday and repatriated on suspicion of phone and internet fraud.

Indonesian immigration official Yurod Saleh said that 49 Taiwanese and 1 Mainland Chinese citizen were repatriated to face charges in China. They have already spent two months in Indonesian prisons and paid a fine of $770 (about 5000 Yuan). Saleh said that 419 Chinese and Taiwanese scammers and cyber criminals have been arrested since August. Nearly 280 people were repatriated to China in October.

The scammers that were arrested had been expelled from Indonesia for illegally obtaining personal information online and prompting victims to transfer funds into an overseas bank account.

This past June, China’s State Council approved the establishment of a new telecommunications network management department to combat cyber-crime. In early October, the department sent teams to Indonesia and Cambodia to carry out investigations. The team was able to identity several organize cyber-crime rings and gangs hiding out in the Southeast Asian nations.

I would not call them "scammers", I would call them " clever peoples " and I would call the victims " idiots " because they believe easy and don't think with their brain ! In Beijing also is a scammer in thebeijinger website who post always fake jobs and try to obtining personal information from foreigners who are looking for a job . I verified him with the Samsung company, but thebeijinger website did nothing for this and that scammer continue to post fake jobs. I advertised peoples there posting my post about this scammer , but this is not enough to stop him. I even asked thebeijinger website to stop him posting there, but nobody did something..

I didn't get "how" they scammed the people - via job ads (just like thebeijinger website person)?

Those scammers should use their abilities in different area, or may be this one is more attractive.
