A Pakistan International Airlines flight from Beijing to Tokyo made an emergency landing in Tianjin on Friday morning due to a bomb threat.

Shortly after take-off, Pakistan International Airlines PK852 received notification of a suspected bomb on board. The plane made an emergency landing at Tianjin Binhai International Airport, said an airlines spokesperson.

The spokesperson said that the bomb threat was made by telephone, and is now being investigated by China’s relative public security organs. The flight had originated in Istanbul, Turkey.

The aircraft, its passengers, and their baggage were rigorously inspected in Tianjin. No dangerous goods were found, and the bomb threat was confirmed as false.
