Man with Knife Causes Panic in Guangzhou Metro, No Injuries Reported

A man holding a kitchen knife caused a panicked crowd to flee at Guangzhou Railway Station Exit F Saturday evening. Police rushed to the site but found no abnormalities.

According to witnesses, on Saturday evening, a man near the exit was handing a kitchen knife, usually meant for cutting fruit. A female passenger saw him holding the knife shouted and caused a panic in a passage. All the passengers in the exit passage starting running to escape. The man left the scene, and there were no injuries.

A Netizen wrote that she saw a group of people screaming and running away from the station. She panicked and following the group to run, and told a stranger near her to run too.

A worker at the station said that there had been a rush to get out of the passage, but it had only lasted a few minutes.
