How about schools establish professional curriculum and students take English as a serious subject instead of sleeping during that class?

"China remains one of the nations that is most committed to the study of English." Seriously? Then how come China ranks at the very bottom of all the Asian countries in English test scores? Blatant ethnocentrism combined with overwhelming xenophobia has created an idiocracy that refuses to place a greater emphasis on the importance of English as a global language.

While I agree, in general, that Chinese society is xenophobic, I do think it's a bit unfair for people from English-speaking countries to "accuse" them of not wanting to learn English. Has it ever struck you that as a native English speaker, you happen to be able to access a huge amount of international material and contact without ever having to make the effort to learn a foreign language, not to mention one so different from your own? So reflect upon this before pointing fingers at the Chinese, who place just as much emphasis as mot other non-English speaking people on learning English.
