A driver in Guangxi was charged a 2,400 Yuan “overtime charge,” for spending two extra hours on a highway multiple times.

Huang, the driver, complained to the media about the fine. He said that he had been driving from Nanning to Pingxiang on the highway. He was fined because he spent two hours more than the normal driving time. The toll worker said Huang had taken extra time on the highway over 20 times this year and needed to pay a fine of 2,400 Yuan. Huang said that he usually takes a nap in a service area when on his trip, and that it is unreasonable to fine him for it.

A spokesperson for the highway operations company said that the toll company was within its rights to charge Huang for “overtime.” “Overtime charges,” exist in several provinces in the country including Hebei, Shandong, Gansu, and Heilongjiang.

So, they fined him because he wouldn't drive dangerously. He's not just encouraged to risk his life, and the lives of others, he is punished for not doing that. That illustrates so much about China.

A Chinese communist to be specific. What does communists, terrorists and criminals have in common? Contempt for and breaking laws that don't serve their selfish interests. Neanderthals are far more civilised and less malicious than them.
