Masochistic Elementary School Live Streams Classes for Parents

Yesterday, an experimental elementary school affiliated Zhejiang University found a new way make their students’ lives miserable: live stream classes so their parents could watch at home. The over 200 parents watching broke the site at a few points because of all the traffic.

“My daughter is not sitting on the correct side of the classroom. Her eyesight is not good,” one mother complained to a reporter.

“My child stood up when the teacher didn’t even ask her a question. She can’t sit still,” another mother said, upset. “My son is too active,” commented another, “I was afraid that he would be restless during class, which I saw on the feed.”

“My daughter is a little shy, but in class I saw her interact well with her classmates. Now, I can rest assured,” said a parent.

How did the students feel, knowing that their parents were watching them?

When asked if they knew their parents were watching their class, some children nodded and others shook their heads. If they knew their parents were watching, would they behave in a certain way? All of the children nodded yes.

Did the children want their parents to watch their class? Only one child of the group answered that it did not matter to him. A girl said that she did not want her father to watch because, “If I am bad, he will scold me.”

The live steam made many of the teachers nervous. Their every move was being watched by not only the parents, but potentially the headmaster as well.

“A parents approached me after watching the live stream. He said his child had raised their hand three times and asked why I didn’t call on him,” said a language teacher.

The live steam made punishment a tricky issue for teachers as well. “If a student isn’t concentrating in class, I usually call him up front and have him stand in place for a while. Now, knowing that parents are watching, I wouldn’t dare to that because they would question why I did it. I can’t even touch a child. With the camera in the classroom, corporal punishment could be misinterpreted.”

Im sure the teachers are more afraid of this than the student because now everyone would know that crap they do in class! HAHA! Why the fuck would you "touch a child"?!!

They should try this in middle schools, sadly most parents wouldn't care if their children were naughty. They would only care if a teacher told off their little "angel".

That's surely a great argument for exactly why they shouldn't do it then, right?
