Guangzhou Toddler Miraculously Unhurt After Falling from 5th Story Balcony

A two year old girl miraculously escaped serious injury after falling from a fifth floor balcony in Guangzhou’s Nansha District Tuesday morning.

The girl’s mother left the apartment to buy groceries, leaving her two children sleeping alone at home. The two year old girl woke up, crawled onto the balcony and on top of the gas tank placed near the edge. She then accidentally fell nearly 20 meters down onto a car parked below.

The child left a dent on the roof of a white car parked below the balcony. If she had fallen directly on the concrete, the results would have ben disastrous.

“Whose child fell?! Hurry!” Miss Wu, a neighbor, was suddenly awakened around 8 am by a crash outside. She went to the street and found seven or eight neighbors gathered in the alleyway surrounding a small child.

“The small girl was about two years ago, wearing a pink and white dress and pants. She was barefoot and had no signs of serious injury. She was half-kneeling and struggling to get up.” Said Wu. The neighbors quickly started to hold and comfort her. The landlord of the building called for help. Soon, the girl’s mother returned from shopping.

Her mother found her on the sidewalk, exclaiming, “How did you get down?” with surprise. Her mother initially did not realize what had happened and tried to take the girl back upstairs. Then a neighbor told her that her daughter had fallen off the balcony. Surprised, the mother picked up the girl, comforted her, and gathered her one year old son to take an ambulance to the hospital.

The girl was taken to the hospital but had no serious injuries. Photos published online in China show the girl kneeling on the ground after her fall.

What the hell is wrong with these people? They're standing around snapping photos of a hurt little girl and not immediately helping her? This 5000 yr. old "culture" has somehow evolved into a sick, dystopic society where ignorance and apathy reign supreme.

So the mother couldn't take her too ? Where's the logic ? Chinese people have none .

It disgusts me that there is a photograph and that echinacities has no moral thought about using it. This sort of behavior needs to be discouraged. A child needing help should be helped immediately not after you have taken a photo of her.
