Elderly Chongqing Man Drowns Failing to Reel in Giant Fish
Sep 11, 2015 By eChinacities.com

A 60 year old Chongqing man drowned this week, when he was pulled into Jialing River by a giant fish. The man was unexpectedly dragged into the river while fishing.

The old man, Han, was fishing at 6:00 in the evening with two friends. His friends ran for help, but by the time they returned it was too late and Han had disappeared in the river.

One witness, Ge, said that Han had caught a giant fish, and was trying to reel it in, when the fish fought back and sent him plunging into the water.

Ge said that Jialing River has a lot of large grass carp. He guessed that the fish that Han caught weighed about 20 or 30 jin (10 to 20 kg). Many people fish on the river in evenings around 6:00 pm or 7:00 pm.

In China, comedy, tragedy and confusion usually come hand in hand. 1) Why did the guy hold onto the rod to the point of death? 2) Why didn't ONE of his buddies jump in to try and save him... from a fish? 3) Why do I continue to understand this weird stuff that happens in China when I already know the horrible truth?

Great question, and deep too. They are brainwashed to fight till death no matter how ridiculous and twisted their actions or arguments are. Cult mindset in short. One wumao here was like that too, kept arguing sh?tting on the street was right. I believe sorrel exposed the low life recently. This is also one sure way to spot mainland zombies --- by their relentless defence of whatever ridiculous arguements their zombie mind come up with (includes sh*tting on the street), calling evil good.....classic criminals' twisted logic. This mentality goes all the way back to Mao's gang (perhaps even further, peasant uprising filled chinese history) who used violence instead of civilised negotiations to 'win' China, after that it was Deng who said political power came from the barrel of a gun (not election, needless to say). It is also with the same ridiculous tenacity that mainlanders hold onto their grudge against the Japanese. Their 'logic' goes like this, 'we are poor, you are the cause, therefore we kill you to liberate ourselves and take the money which you loot (exploit) from us, there ain't no such thing as justice or ethics. Violence, deceit, all fine, winning is all that matters.' Hence, PLA! Hence, the fakes, corruption. Hence, nobody around here respect the law. Imagine growing up being brainwashed by terrorists/communists sh*ts like this. This guy is a true follower of CCP doctrine, to win at all cost including losing your life ---- even when you are fighting against a fish. LOL

This is the most absurd and uninformed China rants I've seen in a while. You went from a guy dying by holding onto his rod to "we kill you to liberate ourselves and take the money which you loot from us." I hope you're trolling. Real people can't think like this.

The explanation is not intended for shallow minded idiots with nothing to sustain their naive, pointless rant.

Although our "guest" here is not brave enough to post with his own name to put a label and face to this hateful rant, he/she is totally right. If you are saying that "real people can't think like this," you haven't been in China long enough or have not learned enough of the Chinese language. The truth is that most foreigners in China have a life expectancy of about one year in terms of staying here, those people and others, also never really learn enough of the language to understand what people on the street are talking about. To these foreigners, the Chinese are just laughs and smiles. I've realized the more of the language I learn, the more I realize how f***** this place really is.

And yet you stay? If you don't care for Chinese thinking or the Chinese way of life, it seems like a fairly simple solution: GTFO. I see so much anti-Chinese BS here posted by foreigners (usually anonymous, you cowards), and yet the bulk of you stay in China (or claim to). You, collectively, post on these boards day after day about how stupid China is and talk about how horrible the Chinese people are, and yet you continue to live here. Either you are all idiots, or you're liars.

@dkappy You still haven't figured out how to tell the difference between guest and username after all this time on ecc? That is my username just like dkappy which is equally meaningless. A photo of some unverifiable guy is also meaningless on the internet. Time to take a look at that little ego of yours. I don't need an internet forum to prop up mine. LOL

@GaryW.... Who taught you someone must be living in a certain country to criticize aspects of it? Wake up, this is the 21 century, you are on the internet! Telling other people to leave. Can't stand reading these criticisms? Simply pluck your eyes out! LOL
