Man Kneels in City Square in the Rain Asking for Wife's Forgiveness

A man kneeling in the rain in Foshan's Dongfang Square begging for his wife's forgiveness caused a stir on the Chinese internet.

The man knelt in the square holding two pieces of cardboard. The first read, “Wife, I will kneel until you appear.” The second piece of cardboard read, “My wife, I was wrong.” The second sign also had a telephone number and name.

When a reporter called the number on the sign, a woman answered the phone and hung up after a stream of obscenities. Looks like his wife has not quite forgiven him yet.

Netizens wrote online that it had been raining that night and the man's clothes were all wet. It seemed that he had been kneeling int the square for quite a long time.

One Netizen posted that they had gone over to the man and tried to convince him to call his wife instead to talk it out. The man said to them, “If you really want to help me out, than you call.” They did, but in the end, no one answered the phone.

Sissy man, I will never kneel in front of a woman, if she's not happy with me then she's free to leave, as the saying goes, one lost ten found.

What a selfish, cowardly jackass! This isnt begging forgiveness...this is giving the whole world his wifes' contact info and begging strangers to harrass her into taking him back. Good thing it seems that his wife has a pair...maybe she will leave him.

I agree, nothing says... "I'm sorry, I was wrong." like having hundreds of total strangers calling your wife and telling her she should forgive you with absolutely NO BACK STORY. But who needs logic in China right?
