Mass Firing of Security Staff at Taizhou Airport After Arson Incident

The Taizhou aviation chief was removed from his post, the deputy bureau chief was dismissed, and the deputy chief and all security workers on duty during the recent arson incident were fired yesterday.

On July 26, a man on a flight traveling from Taizhou to Guangzhou started a fire in the cabin. Two suffered minor injuries in the incident thanks to smart action by passengers and crew.

Taizhou Luqiao Airport operations have been suspended since the incident. A team was sent to supervise the airport as it returned to normal operations on July 29 at 6:00.
