What airports are the busiest in China? How many passengers pass through Beijing Capital in six months time? The rankings for the ten busiest airports in China experienced dramatic shifts in the first half of 2015.
Shenzhen's Bao'an Airport and Chengdu's Shuangliu Airport have knocked Shanghai Honqqiao out of the top four. Shanghai Hongqiao is now ranked fifth, while Pudong comes in at number two.
Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport is firmly in the third spot, but there was close competition for the number four seat. Kunming, at number seven, is still quite close to overtaking Chengdu. Chongqing is also getting close to overtaking Xi'an's Xianyang Airport at number eight.
Airports are ranked by number of passengers served. Airports with more passengers are seen as more popular are are higher ranked. An increase in passengers, means a higher ranking.
Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Hongqiao were among the ten busiest airports this year. Beijing Capital was the busiest airport, while Shanghai Pudong was second.
Shanghai Pudong served 28.99 million passengers in the first half of this year, an increase of 18.3%. Shanghai Hongqiao was the sixth busiest airport in China- the airport came in at number four last year. Out of China's top ten airports, Hongqiao is actually growing at the slowest rate, with a passenger increase of only 2.2%.

If Guangzhou is rated as the third best I never want to go anywhere near the lower rated ones. Gaungzhou has got to be the worst international airport I have ever been through.

The only airport I've been through that's worse is Lagos, and at least the people there have a sense of humor.
