A Wuxi audience was shocked by sheer tops and exposed nipples in a July 16 show of Argentinean musical “Fuerza Bruta,” currently on tour in China.
The show, which features a mix of theater and acrobatics, opened at the Wuxi Zoo yesterday evening. Wuxi theatre-goers were shocked when several attractive female actresses were soaked with water, turning their tops see-through and exposing their nipples.
A number of parents said they had to leave early and take their kids home.
A spokesperson from Wuxi Zoo said that show had already toured in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other cities. This was the first performance of the show in Wuxi, and the zoo did not know that the women's nipples would be on display.
“Fuerza Bruta,” has adjusted itself accordingly: the show was performed again in Wuxi yesterday with not a nipple in sight.
The show itself has gained popularity in a number of other countries. The fast-paced musical is known for challenging the norms of conventional theater. It features a mixture of dance, music, theater, all done amidst blasting water.

Not surprised. I live in Wuxi and can confirm that this is probably the most conservative and inhibited place I have ever been to.

I was also offended. I was walking down the street these summery days and I saw many of these same country's parents and grandparents walking their kids in the parks, squares, and street curbs and the kids had holes in their crotches for easy access to leave "deposits" on the ground, bushes, and grass. In addition, I have seen many adults watering the walls, trees, bushes, apartment gates, and sidewalks themselves. Don't they have diapers here?
