A heroic bus driver outsmarted an armed hijacker and ensured her passengers' safety yesterday in Jinan.
A man armed with a knife hijacked the city bus. The bus driver, Dong Dan, first persuaded the man to let the passengers off of the bus. Then, as the police attempted to negotiate with the man, Dong sprayed the man with a fire extinguisher to get him out the driver's seat. The police used the chaos as a window to board the bus and capture the man.
