McDonald’s and KFC Implement Mobile App Payment Software

McDonald’s and KFC Implement Mobile App Payment Software
Jul 08, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Yum! Brands has announced that many of its chain brands have either already implemented, or are in the process of implementing services which can process payments made by mobile phones.

The organization stated at the end of June that KFC already has 700 stores which have implemented an electronic payment mechanism. At those locations, customers can scan a barcode generated by the payment app known as Zhifubao and complete a purchase in seconds.

Similarly, a McDonald’s spokesman stated in July that they will experiment with an electronic payment mechanism at certain locations in the third quarter this year.

It’s normal for companies in China to consider electronic payment methods on cellphones, and such mechanisms can help increase customer satisfaction, McDonald’s said.

Samsara

EVERY TIME I go shopping there is a Chinese person holding up the line because they're trying to pay by card or phone. Electronic payment causes the average Chinese person immense confusion, and requires them to spend at least 5 minutes exchanging, reading and arguing about receipts. Samsara foresees long queues. Fortunately, Samsara does not eat KFC.
