Attention: Train Tickets Receive Facelift

Train tickets have gotten a new facelift as of late, and the new style of tickets will be issued nationwide starting on August 1. So what will be different about them from the old ones? “Mainly [they] have added some service information, and made some changes about the stations of ticket issue and ticket inspection,” said a customer service worker.

The new tickets will appear as follows: the first line of the tickets is still information on departure and destination, but the place names have added the character for “station” after them, i.e. “Xuzhou Station” instead of “Xuzhou.” The second line has information on departure time and seating arrangement. The third and fourth lines (noted in the third red box) show information on the ticket price and the ticket class. The fifth line has added the passenger’s identification number to what used to be just their name. As for the QR code, it still remains at the bottom right corner.

The railway will accept use of both types of tickets for now, but starting on August 1 the facelift will affect all types of train tickets and only new tickets will be accepted.
