China Telecom Drastically Cuts Roaming Fees
Jun 24, 2015 By eChinacities.com

China Telecom has announced that international roaming charges for its services abroad will be lowered across the board, including fees for web browsing, voice calls, and text messaging in 245 countries and territories.

The deepest cuts in fees for web browsing and voice calls abroad amount to over a 90% decrease, and the deepest cut for text messaging fees amounts to an 80% decrease. Telecom also now offers three different data packages for 150 countries - each priced at 3RMB, 6RMB, and 9 RMB per 3 megabytes, respectively.

Previously it’s been well known amongst Chinese citizens that international roaming charges were very inconsistent, with pricing arrangements being heavily dependent on agreements between Chinese and foreign carriers alike. That has changed, however. Telecom has announced that by conducting multi-round talks with foreign carriers, it has acquired drastically lower pricing options for the use of its services abroad.

What about the stupid charges calling from Province to province? Or even city to city within that province... It has scam written all over it. Move to a new province...get a new sim and start all over again!
