Hong Kong Legislative Council Vetoes Reform Bill

Hong Kong Legislative Council Vetoes Reform Bill
Jun 19, 2015 By eChinacities.com

The democratic reform bill supported by Hong Kong's pro-Beijing camp has failed to pass, having been unable to obtain a necessary two-third majority from its Legislative Council. After 9 hours of debate, the vote was conducted around 12:30 pm. 28 votes were cast rejecting the law, and only 8 were cast supporting it, effectively deeming it dead for now.

The failure to pass the reform bill therefore becomes another chapter in the question surrounding the future of Hong Kong’s political system. The topic came to a head last year when the Occupy Central movement incapacitated parts of the city’s financial hub for almost three months.

Way to go Britain...How long before the CCP starts jailing pro-democracy supporters as "destroyers"? (aka Chinglish for "terrorists" in British English)...No worries...Just as long as the Party blames the "USA"..so you can earn your $5 from them and the false appreciation of it.

The torch is being passed to the umbrella movement generation who are absolutely disgusted at mainlanders' behaviors, en masse. Not only are they crystal clear about what mainlanders are made of they fully know what their future would be like if they give up. The whole world knows why they are disgusted, along with every seasoned western expat who is, or had been in mainland 'china'.

Moral audacity on HKers part for causing this huge loss of face for CCP, which you can bet is holding a grudge, formulating vendetta.
