May 27, 2015 By eChinacities.com

As the annual, dreaded college entrance exam, or gaokao, approaches, the Beijing Education Examinations Authority announced that those caught cheating can be barred from the exam for up to three years.

The Beijing Education Examinations Authority listed 18 types of cheating, nine types of misconduct, five kinds of disruptive behavior and the consequences for each.

The types of cheating include: passing on questions after the exam, transmitting questions during the exam, forging ID cards, exam tickets, or other documents, having a stand-in take the test, and group cheating or organized cheating of any kind.

If students are caught on a serious cheating violation, then they can be disqualified from taking the gaokao and other National Examinations for one to three years.

In addition, students' scores will be canceled if they work on the test before the official time begins or after it ends, or bring scrap paper or notes out of the examination room
