Changsha Woman Dragged Out of Home Naked for Surprise Demolition

Changsha Woman Dragged Out of Home Naked for Surprise Demolition
May 25, 2015 By eChinacities.com

A Changsha woman's family were suddenly kicked out of their home so it could be demolished with no prior warning. The woman's mother was bathing when the construction workers arrived and was dragged out of the house naked.

Netizen Lady Chi told reporters that workers can suddenly to demolish her 100 square meter ancestral home in Changsha's Tianxin District. Her 80 year old grandmother and her disabled uncle lived there together. Her mother often stayed there as well to take care of them. Her grandfather had died in the home.

Earlier this month, the Chiling Road neighborhood office sent fifty or sixty people to demolish the small home. Chi's mother was dragged out naked, and her uncle, who is unable to walk, was dragged out of the home and beaten.

Her mother and uncle were forced into a car, driven away and locked in a room. Their phones were taken away.

Chi angrily shared the story online. She said that the house was quickly demolished, family graves were disturbed, and her grandfather's ashes have since disappeared. “The house was dismantled in the night, without any notice. So far there has been no compensation.”

A Tianxin, Changsha local government staff member said that the government is aware of the situation because of Chi's online post and is currently investigating it further.

Regular Chinese people don't even own their country, the wealthy and connected do.

I am not sure about that "without any warning" part of the story. Fair enough the government will end up having the land for the next construction but I doubt they didn't inform the tenant more than enough time before. Again fair enough the tenant/owners fight to keep their place and use the media as much as they can, that wouldn't be a first.

No surprise here. China is the pits. And I feel sorry for some, but not all.

Rubbish. I bet their real gripe was they could not affored to make their 100 sqm house a 200 sqm house to boost the compensation. I have seen the exitment in my family when a development is announced... quick... make the house bigger to get more compensation.

For me the saddest thing about this news is the headline that was chosen. Shame on echinacities. How would you like it if it happened to you would you make a joke about it then? Heres hoping that the psychopaths who ordered the house demolitions will be held to account and will be dealt with accordingly.

“The house was dismantled in the night, without any notice." When money is insight who cares day or night, wrong or right, steal or snatch, that's china.

"A Tianxin, Changsha local government staff member said that the government is aware of the situation because of Chi's online post.." Well, glad to know these amazing government officials were kept in the loop on what happens in their community. More like they already knew, but had to fess up and face the limelight because it was posted online. Hope the hongbao was a big one! And does it really take fifty or sixty men to kick out a bunch of old people and demolish a 100 square meter home? In China, "shame" is a bottomless word.
