Smoking will be banned in hotels, the outdoor entrances of hotels, meeting rooms, bathrooms and other spaces including crowded outdoor areas. “If someone is caught smoking in a crowded area, they will be told to move farther away to a less crowded area. If they are rediscovered smoking in the same area, they will be subject to heavy penalties.”

Individuals can be fined 50 to 200 Yuan under the new legislation, while companies and businesses can be fined 5,000 to 10,000 Yuan. Beijingers can report illegal smoking via the hotline: 12320.

Set up an official website which has an incentive system much like ecc's bonus points to encourage people posting video of law breakers (from public shitting, peeing, smoking in smoking restricted areas, litter bugs, loud yelling in public places, yelling into mobile, opening plane's emergency doors....anything illegal or uncivilised). Call it the good citizen website, design a good citizen logo and engrave it on the gift items, pen, pin, torch, purse, wallet, keyholders, rechargeable battery pack....etc. . Let the public vote on best monthly/annual video award to cater to the possibility of multiple people catching the same act, also allow comments. Rest assure the person's name, company, mobile no., address...etc. will be revealed by posters who recognize him/her, this is china. With the face thing and little gifts as rewards guarantee results within 6 months. No need to worry about fakes, not worth it this time. LOL A new national pastime!

So, just the same as back in 2010 then. I vaguely remember a similar law and a similar article around that time.
