On April 13, Hebei police located a foreigner who was a registered sex offender in his own country, and deported him according to Chinese law. The young man entered China for business but had a criminal record for sexual assault of a child in back in his own country. Hebei provincial police investigated the case and found that the man had checked into a hotel in Gaobeidian, Baoding. The Gaobeidian city police apprehended the suspect on April 13, and he was deported on April 14.
Foreigners who are sex offenders are not allowed to enter China under the “People's Republic of China Immigration Control Act.” Foreigners that may endanger China's national security and interests, disrupt public order or engage in criminal activities are banned from entering the country.

I shake my head every time I hear about a child molester being anywhere but prison. Why let these people out to do more harm? Can't blame China for not wanting the piece of shit.

I guarantee you that's not the guy in the photo. Does that guy look like he's in jail or under arrest? No that's just some poor schmuck signing a household registration or visa form in a waiting room with another casually dressed guy standing next to him. My comment was on how that guy in the photo is probably just some rando expat living here now has his photo attached to an article about child molestation.

I wonder who that's a picture of. It looks like it's just some guy signing a form. What are the odds he's a sex offender? I would be so pissed if there was an article like "Foreign Businessman Boils Baby!" and then a photo of me sitting at a desk or talking on a phone. Even with the face blurred!

Pedophiles and child murderers are considered the lowest of the low in prison. I don't blame anyone for not wanting this filth in their country. Actions have consequences. You ruined a child's life, your life should be ruined too.

So, if I follow this right, visa application process CHECK, border control CHECK, but heh, suddenly local PD shows up and saves the day. Sure sure, that makes perfect sense.

All hail to the eagle-eyed and perennially alert Hebei constabulary! I'm impressed.
