Editor's Note: This article, translated from ifeng.com, tells the story of the dispute between Li and Zang. Zang disappears leaving a large debt to Li. Li does not know what to do until his wife stumbles on a picture of Zang on Weibo and concocts a scheme to bring him back to Beijing.

Mr. Zang owed Mr. Li 30,000 Yuan for labor costs after a dispute over a labor contract. However, when it was time to pay up, Zang went missing. Li took the case to the Beijing Tongzhou court, but could not get the court to enforce the fine because Zang was unable to be found and could not be contacted. In the end, Li finally figured out Zang's whereabouts with the help of his wife and they set up a trap so that Zang would come out of hiding and be forced to pay his debt.

Gone Without a Trace

Zang had been the boss of a renovation team and had been employed by Li in Beijing. The two men had worked together for many years without any issues. However, in the beginning of 2012, Zang went missing after Li paid him 30,000 Yuan for a labor project his team had yet to finish. Li was desperate and filed a court complaint against Zang. The court accepted the case but was unable to carry out an investigation in a timely manner. Zang is not a Beijing native and did not have a fixed residence in Beijing. He had no phone and the court was unable to contact him. Therefore, the case was temporarily put on hold.

Discovered on Weibo

Li's wife, Zhao, loved traveling and liked to look at other people's travel photos on Weibo. One day, she was looking through the photos of an acquaintance and saw Zang in one of the pictures. She shouted to her husband, who quickly confirmed her suspicions. The photos showed Zang on a trip in Tibet. He looked happy and content in the photos, which angered Li.

Li told the judge that he had figured out Zang's whereabouts. His wife, Zhao, posed as a travel enthusiast and contacted Zang on Weibo, asking for tips on a fake upcoming trip to Tibet. Zang and Zhao began to exchange messages. Zhao is a very young and beautiful woman; when she told Zang that she wanted to meet in person to discuss future travel ideas, Zang quickly agreed and the two set up a time and place to meet.

Li and the judge waited at the appointed time and place to meet with Zang and bring him to court. The judge ruled that Zang must fulfill his legal obligations to repay Li and pay interest for the delay. The judge and Li successfully forced Zang to show up in the court room through Zhao's trap and the case was successfully closed.

Why is it that so many Chinese can be so creative when they con, steal and lie.. but when you ask them "Why?" they give you a blank look and answer with the all too infamous reply?
